Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she was a kid she attended her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was aspired to be a professional actress since she was at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford which is an acting academy which offers classes for part-time students. By the age of ten she had performed and taken part in many Stagecoach shows and school productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the roles. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first cinematic appearance was as a part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. It was also one of the top-rated films during 2001. Its opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. The film was praised by critics, as were the performances of its three stars. The Daily Telegraph praised Emma for her performance. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in an feature Film. Emma was awarded five times for her role in the movie.
