Maggie Grace is an American actress born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series as well as Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. The couple had separated and she relocated with her mother into Los Angeles. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles, she was able to secure her first big part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room in the role of Rachel's Room's main character. After earning a Young Artist Award in 2002 for her portrayal in Murder on the streets of Greenwich of 15 year aged Martha Moxley as a murder victim, she went on to win. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal family, she is the daughter and elder sister of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was in her teens, she played small parts in the films of her father and she co-starred alongside her sister in Donnie Darko, a popular cult movie. Her subsequent roles included Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind which was released in 2002 as well as Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performances as the lead in the erotic romance comedy Secretary (2002) as well as the thriller Sherrybaby (2006) both of which resulted in a Golden Globe Award nomination.
